Myovision
During your Myovision exam, Dr. Soran uses Surface Electromyography to evaluate the functional status of skeletal muscles, in order to identify where your back needs rehabilitation.
Surface Electromyography
Surface Electromyography (SEMG) is the measure of muscle tension.
How Does It Work?
SEMG is essentially a very sensitive version of the EKG used to measure your heart. Simply put, a computer detects and analyzes the electrical activity of muscles and muscle groups.
A vertebral subluxation interferes with communication between the brain and the rest of the body. This causes improper electrical pulses and can lead to poor health.
Muscles may respond to this nerve interference by tensing and bracing to compensate for the problem. This results in a high reading.
Low readings are also a sign of distress. Muscles in spasm sometimes become fatigued and shut down.
Several weeks of chiropractic adjustments will correct these problems. "High reading" areas are essentially loosened up and tensing and bracing will lessen. Muscle activity in "Low reading" areas will increase.
Let us help you feel better! A Myovision exam is a patient friendly process that speaks in terms easily understandable to you and your doctor. Dr. Soran thrives on making you feel better, and together with SEMG, can get you on track with getting your life back.
